<p>The present invention relates to a device for administering a fluid medicament orally to an infant, which device comprises a reservoir to contain the medicament in fluid flow communication with a teat connected to the reservoir and through which fluid from the reservoir is to be discharged into the mouth of the infant, which teat is to be sucked upon by the infant to draw medicament from the reservoir into the mouth of the infant, which device is characterised in that: a) the teat has an outlet through which fluid is to be discharged into the mouth of the infant and an inlet in fluid flow communication with the reservoir, said inlet and outlet being directly connected by a conduit located within said teat or in a wall of the said teat; b) the reservoir has an outlet in fluid flow communication with the inlet of the conduit in the teat; the reservoir being configured so that suction applied by an infant to the teat will draw fluid from the reservoir. The invention also provides a novel teat for use in the device of the invention. The invention also provides a method for administering a fluid medicament using a device of the invention.</p> |
