PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve corrosion and spalling resistances and structural stability after receiving heat by including an alumina-based material, an amorphous carbon raw material, silicon carbide and/or boron carbide, magnesia, a silica fine powder and an aromatic sulfonic acid-formalin condensate salt therein. SOLUTION: This castable refractory for a slide gate is obtained by blending an alumina-based raw material with 2-15wt.% amorphous carbon raw material, 0.5-10wt.% silicon carbide and/or boron carbide (with the proviso that <=3wt.% boron carbide is used and >=3wt.% silicon carbide is contained when the amount of the boron carbide is <=0.5wt.%), 2-10wt.% magnesia having <=1mm particle diameter, 0.2-3wt.% silica fine powder having <=5μm particle diameter and 0.1-5wt.% aromatic sulfonic acid-formalin condensate salt. |
