PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively prevent chips from curling around a cutting tool holder. SOLUTION: A protruding part 15 protruded from a shank part 10 of a cutting tool holder is formed on the upper side of a part, adjacent to a cutting edge tip 13, of the shank part 10 so that chips generated by the cutting action of the cutting edge tip 13 rebound colliding with a vertical face 15b of the protruding part 15. Another protruding part 16 protruded from the face of the shank part 10 is formed on the lower side of a part, adjacent to the cutting edge tip 13, of the shank part 10, and an inclined face 16b inclined in the direction of approaching the cutting edge tip 13 is formed at the protruding part 16, toward the cutting edge tip 13 so that chips slip down along this inclined face 16b.
