PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to easily set the characteristic of one musical tone to be generated by combining the parts of arbitrary musical instruments and sound producing objects. SOLUTION: The processing to set the display on a display 14 at a timbre selection screen is executed. If the processing at the display 14 is the timbre selection screen, the processing relating to a 'timbre selection function' is executed by the subsequent timbre selection processing. Namely, whether a timbre selection mode or not is decided. The mode is the timbre selection mode and the timbre selection processing is executed if the timbre selection screen is displayed. In such a case, the timbre selection is executable by combining the arbitrary plural parts among the respective parts of the excitation mechanisms and structures of various kinds of the musical instruments by referencing the timbre selection screen. The respective parts of the selectable excitation mechanisms and structures are displayed by dividing these parts to groups relating to the excitation and resonance functions and the one timbre is temporarily selected by the combination of the selected two parts. |
