PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain two kinds of screen representation which are plane representation and stereoscopic representation by a character with one plane pattern by representing the stereoscopic effect by putting identical characters one over another while shifting their positions, and displaying them on a screen. SOLUTION: The character with one plane pattern is written in a screen memory 4c as an image of a screen A. A character obtained from the same character through the line scrolling process of a line scrolling process part 4d is written in the screen memory 4e as an image of a screen B. For this image of the screen B, a fading process is performed preferably so that it is seen as a shadow of the screen A. The fading process may be a translucence generating process. The images of the screen A written in the screen memory 4c and the screen B written in the screen memory 4e are put one over the other at a composition part 5, and consequently the stereoscopic image is displayed on a CRT 6. |
