Surface layer structuring

The method structures the surface layer of bodies of alloys, simple metals or earth metals. A mirror image of the desired surface is impressed on a plastic film with a thickness of 5 micrometers to 1 mm. The plastic film structuring is directed opposite the surface to be structured. The structuring on the film is then transferred to the surface layer by applying pressure to the film. The transferred structure has a depth of between 0.001 and 20 microns. The pressure may be applied to transfer the structure from the film by rollers, cylinders, presses or bobbins. The method can be used to form plates, bands or films of metal or to form functional or decorative surface structures.
