The drive consists of a stationary part with magnet coils, and there is a rotating part which is made of a magnetisable material. In addition to the magnet coil control necessary for the rotating part drive, the coils or their parts are affected by a control device connected to a measurement system which detects the radial position of a centrifugal drum. At least two magnet coils are provided. They have a sinusoidal winding distribution and are separated at the middle. A control current flows through the two coil halves in opposite directions, and each coil is connected to the three-phase supply current system.
