摘要 PURPOSE: To prevent quality of a strip, which is formed by jointing materials whose weights per unit length are different, while the strip is being transferred by restraining a tensile change due to a weight change at the rising or lowering time of the jointing point of the strip. CONSTITUTION: A strip weight W2 on the inner side and a strip weight W1 on the outer side than a top roll 4 are computed by a joint point height computing circuit 30 and a vertical strip weight computing circuit 40. From them and a top roll diameter D4, a top roll decelerating ratio (a), a top roll bearing frictional coefficient (μ) and so on, a weight difference torque computing circuit 50 computes a weight difference torqueτ1, a frictional content torque computing circuit 60 computes a frictional content torqueτ2, and an accelerating/ decelerating compensation torque computing circuit 70 computes an accelerating/ decelerating compensation torqueτ3. A total of theseτ1,τ2 andτ3 is computed by an adder 92. The added result is given to the control circuit of the top roll 4 as a torque compensation signal, so it is possible to restrain a tensile change resulting in a difference in the weight of the top roll 4 on the inner and outer sides.
