PURPOSE: To improve operability and to reduce wasteful power consumption by driving a carrying roller in a double-sided unit concerned in the carriage to a recorder from a paper supply unit by the driving source of an image recorder. CONSTITUTION: In the case where a power source is turned on, a recorder command is received and whether the command is a carrying instructing command or not is discriminated. In the case it is the carrying instructing command, only the carrying roller is driven by a motor C 116. By supplying power to the motor C 116 from a recorder main body, the carrying roller is driven even when the power source of the double-sided unit 101 is turned off. Therefore, by supplying the paper from the paper supply unit, paper supplying/carrying operation is performed even when the power source of the unit 101 is turned off, so that one-sided recording is performed. In the case where the command is not the carrying instructing command, recording paper is reversed/carried until it reaches a paper supply sensor. In the case where a reversing instructing command is not recognized, motors B 115 and C 116 are rotated when a paper supplying command is recognized. Thus, the carrying rollers C and B are rotated to carry the recording paper in the recorder. |
