<p>PURPOSE:To efficiently and quickly perform a demodulation processing by interrupting a present demodulation processing when demodulation data to be actually demodulated match with demodulated data. CONSTITUTION:A scanning and extraction means 10 scans a bar code by the electromagnetic radioactive rays of a light source or the like and extracts bar width data from the reflection, a demodulation means 11 successively performs demodulation for respective characters and then, a demodulation completion judgement means 12 judges whether or not already demodulated data are present and match with the demodulation data to be actually demodulated at the time of executing the present demodulation processing. The present demodulation processing is interrupted when the already demodulated data are present and match with the demodulation data to be actually demodulated and the present demodulation processing is continued when the already demodulated data are not present yet or when the data do not match with the demodulation data to be actually demodulated even though they are present. Thus, when the already demodulated data are present, the present demodulation processing is immediately interrupted.</p> |
