PURPOSE:To obtain a cubic boron nitride sinter compact strenghened in bonding phase and improved in the ear resistance and toughness of the sintered compact. CONSTITUTION:This cubic boron nitride sintered compact consists of 30-70vol.% cubic boron nitride and the balance carbide solid soln. contg. Ti and a group IVa, Va or VIa element of the Periodic Table other than Ti, TiB2, AlN and inevitable impurities or the balance arbide solid soln. contg. Ti and a group IVa, Va or VIa element of the Periodic Table other than Ti TiB AIN at least one selected from among carbide or boride of a group IVa, Va, VIa or VIII element of the Periodic Table other than Ti, Al2O3, TiC and an iron family metal and inevitable impurities. |
