PURPOSE:To provide a battery with high discharge voltage, high capacity, and high safety by using a chalcogen compound mainly comprising a group IVB or VB element in the periodic table, In, Zn, or Mg as at least one kind of a negative active material. CONSTITUTION:A chalcogen compound mainly comprising a group IVB or VB element in the periodic table, In, Zn, or Mg is used as a negative active material. A group IVB element is Si, Ge, Sn, or Pb, and a group VB element is As, Sb, or Bi. A nonaqueous secondary battery with high charge/discharge performance, high discharge voltage, high capacity, and high safety can be obtained. |
