<p>PURPOSE: To provide a method for producing a ceramic denture in the same shape diversity and accuracy as those of metallic denture. CONSTITUTION: A material composed of 92.1-93.5 wt.% of zirconium oxide (ZrO2 ), 4.5-5.5 wt.% of yttrium oxide (Y2 O3 ), 1.8-2.2 wt.% of hafnium oxide and up to 0.2 wt.% of the rest (a 3rd oxide) is molded and then worked into the objective denture by use of a rotating tool consisting of mutually metallic- bonded diamond grains under the following conditions: the number of revolutions: 10,000-50,000 rpm, feed quantity rate: 0.1-0.5 mm/min, feed rate: 0.3-3.0 cm/s, and the surface velocity of the tool: 0.5-9.0 m/s.</p> |
