<p>PURPOSE:To suppress the generation of a misalarm at the time of detecting an object having no risk of collision in an inter-vehicle distance alarming device for computing an alarm distance from a relative speed between a self-vehicle and a preceding object and the speed of the self-vehicle, and when a distance from the self-vehicle up to the preceding vehicle becomes shorter than the alarm distance, generating an alarm to call driver's attention. CONSTITUTION:The inter-vehicle distance alarming device is provided with an inter-vehicle distance detecting means 1, a means 2 for computing a relative speed from the timewise fluctuation of a detection value outputted from the means 1, a means 4 for computing an alarm distance based upon the relative speed and the speed of the self-vehicle, a means 7 for comparing the computed alarm distance with a current inter-vehicle distance, and when the latter distance is shorter, generating an alarm, a means 5 for judging the level of the relative speed from the relative speed and the speed of the self-vehicle, and a means 6 for correcting the alarm distance so as to reduce it at the time of judging that the relative speed is high.</p> |
