PURPOSE:To attach a light emitting element and a light receiving element for detecting the terminal part of a magnetic tape at exact positions on a chassis and to save trouble of screwing a supporting holder holding the respective elements on the chassis. CONSTITUTION:The light emitting element 401 is attached between a pair of reel bases 200a and 200b and the light receiving elements 402 are attached on both sides of the attaching position of a cassette 600 on the chassis 100, respectively. The light emitting element 401 and the respective light receiving elements 402 are held by a supporting holder 400. A fitting piece 400d having a tip where a slip-off preventing piece 405 is provided is protrusively provided on the lower surface of the holder 400. The lower surface of the holder 400 and the slip-off preventing piece are integrally molded and provided on the chassis 100 so that they abut on the surface of the chassis 100.
