The aim of the invention is to develop a method of charging a roller grinding mill, by means of which the filling level fluctuations of the material being processed in the pouring-in box are kept within very narrow limits. This aim is achieved by the filling level being established after every flap-opening cycle, in the case of the filling level falling below a minimum a constant amount being added and this sum serving as equivalent for the flap opening angle for the respectively following flap-opening cycle, and in the case of a YES signal of a maximum sensor (6) the procedure likweise being thus, the constant amount then being subtracted and the difference serving as equivalent for the flap-opening angle for the respectively following flap-opening cycle.
