Improvements made to single-use hypodermic syringes. The syringe includes a plunger 2 which can move axially inside the corresponding tubular body 1, the plunger 2 having a housing 5 for the corresponding hypodermic needle 11 after the first and only use thereof, as a consequence of which this hypodermic needle 11 is pushed inwards by a spring 14, after the release of the head 10 of said needle 11, on disengagement of flexible tabs 15, after the pushing of appendices 16 which are derived from a hermetic adjustment crown 13 which is pushed inwards in the maximum movement of the plunger 2, with the hypodermic needle 11 remaining inside the cavity or housing 5 of said plunger 2, making re-use of the syringe impossible. The housing 5 is sealed at its start by a cap 6 which can be connected to the end of the head 10 of the actual needle 11 when the plunger 2 is moved towards its maximum operational position. <IMAGE>
