PURPOSE:To obtain a sliding member which has excellent frictional and wear properties and does not mar a mating member even when it is soft by mixing an ethylene/tetrafluoroethylene copolymer with given amounts of pitch-based carbon fibers and a specific polytetrafluoroethylene. CONSTITUTION:This sliding member comprises 100 pts.wt. ethylene/ tetrafluoroethylene copolymer, 0.1-10 pts.wt. pitch-based carbon fibers preferably having a modulus in tension of 10,000kgf/mm<2> or lower, an average fiber length of 50-1,000mum, and an average fiber diameter of 1-50mum, and 0.1-30 pts.wt. polytetrafluoroethylene having a mol.wt. of 1X10<4> to 1X10<6>. |
