PURPOSE:To surely maintain a non-sensing condition of a starter even in the case that a passenger protecting device of air bag device or the like is dropped down such as at the time of fitting work. CONSTITUTION:A switching rod 70 for placing a sensor 44 in a non-sensing condition and sensible condition is placed in a condition inserted into the sensor 44 by energizing force of a return spring 72, and in this condition, a drive shaft 52 is impeded from its swiveling. On the other hand, when a release unit 74 connected to the switching rod 70 is pulled down to an opposite passenger side by operating a release bolt 82 inserted, according to this operation, also the switching rod 70 is drawn out to the opposite passenger side. Consequently, the drive shaft 52 can be swiveled to place the sensor 44 in a sensible condition. Accordingly, such as at the time of work for fitting an air bag device, even when it is dropped carelessly by a worker, the non-sensing condition of the sensor 44 can be surely maintained. |
