The heating device has a housing (2) enclosing a heating chamber (3), a microwave generator (4), a microwave transmitter (5) and a microwave coupling (9), for coupling the microwaves to the heating chamber, containing a driven reflector (7) for uniform distribution of the microwaves. The axis of the hollow waveguide (6) between the microwave transmitter and the reflector is perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the latter. Pref. the reflector is in the form of a truncated pyramid with 3 or 4 side faces, mounted in a central position above the heating chamber. ADVANTAGE - Efficient utilisation of microwaves and uncomplicated microwave coupling for simple low-cost mfr.
