A portable sign or like structure has a hollow collapsible construction with a plurality of side panels hingedly interconnected to form an upright body. At least some of the panels are of stiff material or construction and the base has at least two sections which are hinged to at least two of the stiff panels and to each other such that when the panels are lifted the base is caused to fold outwardly and collapse the structure. When the collapsed structure is then lowered into position the downwardly projecting base unfolds on contact to erect the structure. <IMAGE> |
