PURPOSE:To provide an internal combustion engine with an ignition device whose current limiting circuit portion is hardly affected adversely by potential fluctuation of a collector electrode. CONSTITUTION:In an ignition device for an internal combustion engine, a power transistor 1 for connecting primary current to a primary coil 2 and disconnecting it and a current limiting circuit 4 for controlling primary current to the primary coil 2 are integrally installed. A first lead frame 20 fixing the power transistor 1 and a second lead frame 21 fixing the current limiting 4 are disposed, being mutually separated.
