The invention relates to a roof intended for bus stops and the like and is intended to be fastened on vertical posts or the like. The roof comprises three main parts made of reinforced plastic, namely an essentially plane lower panel 1 which can have a recess for mounting, for example, a light fitting, a beam part 2, which fits on top of the lower panel and is fastened in a stationary manner therein, with both edge beams 21, 22 which can be fastened to the edges of the lower panel and centrally located beams 23, 26 with a higher profile, and finally an upper plane 3 which has a centrally convex upper layer 33 which is supported against the beams lying below. In addition, the edges of the construction can be provided with a profiled protection strip 41, 42 which consists of, for example, aluminium. The whole roof is produced as a finished factory construction which also contains the necessary electrical installations. By virtue of its low weight, the roof is easy to mount on site, for example on corner posts. <IMAGE>
