In accordance with an illustrative embodiment of the present invention, a surface adjustable bent housing for use in a downhole drilling motor assembly includes a lower housing that is coupled by a threaded connection to a mandrel that is pivotally mounted in an upper housing by a ball-type joint and a pair of radial keys.
