PURPOSE:To perform the focusing processing of an imager AF which has excellent focusing accuracy, speed and stability and pretty good cost performance even when an object is moving. CONSTITUTION:The camera is provided with an imager AF type focusing device, and mainly consists of an image pickup lens 1, an image pickup element 2, an image pickup processing circuit 3, a recording processing circuit 4, a BPF (band pass filter) circuit 5 for taking in a contrast value indicating a focusing degree, an A/D conversion circuit 6, a calculation processing circuit 7, a driving motor 8 providing the displacement of order for the image pickup lens 1, and a motor driving circuit 9. The focal position is searched depending on whether or not an aimed value is reached by the contrast value, and a video signal recordable state is brought about at the time of the transmission of the video signal in focusing state. |
