The invention relates to a system with which it is possible to cover a surface in a variable manner in such a way as to protect the latter from the sun or rain or, in contrast, to allow these to pass through. It consists of flaps (1) which are articulated at each of their ends about hinges (2) and which are placed in parallel and at regular intervals on a frame (3) supporting the system; two connecting rods (4) connect each of the flaps (1) to one another via hinge pins (5). By means of a control system (6) it is possible to move one of the two connecting rods (4) and, consequently, to turn the flaps (1) either to a closed position or to a more or less open position. A system, which is not described, makes it possible to block the control in the desired position. In the closed position, the profile of the flaps (1) of zigzag shape constitutes a gutter which removes the rainwater at its ends, this rainwater being collected in the U-shaped connecting rods (4) which also form gutters, thereby removing the water to outside the frame (3). In the open position, the chosen inclination of the flaps makes it possible to vary the shading and the insolation of the covered surface according to the position of the sun during the day. This covering system applies to all areas which can be covered and uncovered depending on the climatic conditions: terraces (of dwellings, cafés, shops), swimming pools, verandas, greenhouses, etc. <IMAGE> |
