It comprises a horizontal circular platform (1) rotationally driven on itself by a coaxial vertical shaft (4) placed underneath, and provided with a series of equidistant circumferential radial slits (110) for the displacement of a corresponding number of carriages (10) which are equipped with heads (11) for clamping the wheel rims, and in which the to-and-fro travel of the carriages is provided by a pneumatic unit arranged coaxially with the said shaft (4) and comprising a piston (12) and a cylinder (13) so that the piston (12) is axially immobilised on the shaft whereas the cylinder (13) is mounted so that it can slide on the previous one (12) and is kinematically coupled to the said carriages by a linkage (131, 132; 16).
