PURPOSE:To reduce the number of maintenance times and running cost as well, by uniting a replenishing means and a housing means so as to be detachable, and simultaneously, making the housing capacity of a developer and a housed developer into specific relation. CONSTITUTION:The rate of the capacity of the replenished toner housing part 60a and a waste toner housing part 60b is set, replenished toner housing capacity (B) > waste toner effective housing capacity (C) > a replenished toner quantity (B) X an untransfer rate (A), that is, toner in the housing part 60a is completely used, and then, the quantity of the toner which is not transferred on a sheet is secured as an irreducible minimum. Normally, 10%-25% of replenished toner is recovered as untransfered toner, but actually, the effective hosing quantity of the housing part 60b required the 30% of the replenishing toner capacity, because of various kinds of trouble, so that the waste toner effective capacity is set at 150cc with respect to the replenishing toner capacity of 500cc. |
