Crossed glass plates (37, 39, 41, and 43) having dichroic surfaces (45, 49, 47 and 51) of different reflection properties are used in commercial projection TV systems. These cross-dichroic optic structures have a region at the crossing interface of the glass plates wherein there is a gap in the dichroic surface. The cross-dichroic optic structure to be used for 3D displays without the distortion that would be created by use of prior art cross-dichroic optics.
