PURPOSE:To obtain a new solid lubricant having good lubricating characteristics under vacuum atmosphere of at high temperature by blending a graphite based solid lubricant with a graphite intercalation compound having specific grains of the residual compound thereof. CONSTITUTION:The aimed solid lubricant obtained by blending (A) a graphite based solid lubricant consisting of graphite powder, graphite flake, etc. with (B) a graphite intercalation compound obtained by inserting a metal halide, metal fluoride, halogen,etc., into a raw material consisting of natural of artificial graphite, graphite fiber, graphite whisker, sheet-like graphite, highly oriented pyrolytic graphite or residual compound thermally decomposed by thermally treating the above-mentioned compound at high temperature in the blend ratio of 1-95% (preferably 20-80%). |
