Contact force measurement of connector contact spring arms - using piezoelectric film between two hard metal elements for rapid, direct measurement

The method is for measuring the contact force exerted by contact spring arms of an electrical contact element of a plug connector on a contact element of an electrical counter contact part. A hard metal measurement sensor is plugged into the contact element and is connected to electrical measurement indicators. The contact force is measured directly using a piezoelectrical film mounted between two hard metal elements. The contact force acts externally on the hard metal elements perpendicularly to the foil plane. USE/ADVANTAGE - For quality control during connector production, the method and arrangement enable rapid direct contact force measurement.
