PURPOSE:To obtain the subject composition capable of providing molded products, free of molding cracks in thermal compression molding of washing dressers, etc., excellent in transparency and having an artificial marble appear ance by blending glass fiber with diphenylpentene and transparent filler. CONSTITUTION:An unsaturated polyester resin molding compound, containing (A) glass fiber having about 0.05-3mm length, (B) 4-methyl-2,4-diphenylpentene-1 and (C) a transparent filler (e.g. glass powder having 100-200 mesh average particle diameter or aluminum hydroxide having 1-30mu average particle diameter) and >= about 10<7>cP viscosity at 25 deg.C. The resultant compound is thermally compression molded to provide bathtubs, counters, etc. A compound having >=about 5X10<7>cP viscosity is especially used. The components are preferably contained in the following amounts based on 100 pts.wt., resin. 3-40 pts.wt. component (A), 0.05-1 pt.wt. component (B) and 150-350 pts.wt. glass powder or aluminum hydroxide. |
