<p>An extendable awning (10) comprising a length of flexible sheet material (12) having first and second ends each attached to a respective first (14) and second (24) elongated member. The length of flexible sheet material (12) is capable of being rolled around the first elongated member (14). The first elongated member (14) being mounted in an elevated position in a first bracket means (18) mounted on a first set of poles (20). The length of flexible sheet material (12) can be unrolled and the second elongated member (24) positioned in a second bracket means (44) mounted on a second set of poles (42) spaced apart from the first set of poles (20) so as to shelter an area. Means is also described to aid extension, retraction and locking of the length of flexible sheet material (12) by way of a winch plate (16) and hook (32).</p> |
