PURPOSE:To perform quick locking and unlocking of a turret head by engaging an separating a 3rd common tooth ring with the 2nd tooth ring fixed to a column side and the 1st tooth ring fixed to a turret head side. CONSTITUTION:A 1st movable tooth ring 15 in a face gear shape coaxial with a turret head 3 is fixed thereto and a 2nd fixing tooth ring 17 in the face gear shape coaxial with the 1st tooth ring is fixed to a column. Moreover, the turret head 3 is locked to a specified indexing position by operating the 3rd tooth ring 18 for locking having a biting face 18a capable of engaging the biting faces 15a, 17a of the 1st and 2nd tooth rings by its approaching and separating to and from the 1st and 2nd tooth rings. Now, the biting with the 1st, 2nd tooth rings 15, 17 is made to be released by displacing a 3rd tooth ring 18 alone, in case of the indexing rotation of the turret head 3. |
