PURPOSE:To effectively prevent vehicle theft by means of connecting with the ignition side, by making it possible to put out an optical signal of a specified intensity from a photogenic part on turning in ignition switch and to start an engine, or ignition control, on receipt of that optical signal. CONSTITUTION:An ignition key part 3 is composed of an ignition switch 1 for starting an engine and an emission element 2, which puts out a specific high intensity optical signal with the closing of the switch's contact point. A converging part 9 is installed, opposedly facting against the emission element 2, which is connected to a light receiving detection circuit 6 with an optical fiber 10. On receiving the optical signal by the judgment of a CPU 7, an instruc tion signal is issued to a power transistor 8 to open the primary circuit of an ignition coil 11 for ignition control. Since the ignition control is made impos sible without receiving the optical signal of a specific intensity from the emission part by the light receiving part, vehicle theft by means of direct connection with the ignition side can be effectively prevented. |
