PURPOSE:To speed up double-sided copying through the use of existing devices and to handle originals irrespective of their page numbers by continuously reading original images, storing them in a memory, copying odd-numbered originals in decreasing order on one sides and transferring images of even- numbered originals on the back of refed transfer paper in increasing order. CONSTITUTION:By the use of existing original feeder 3, a double-sided tray device 10, etc., original images are continuously carried and read out by the CCD 26 of an original reader 5, and stored in a read memory. In the case of double-sided copying, odd-numbered originals are copied in decreasing order on one sides, and their transfer paper is refed in increasing order. To copy on the back, even-numbered originals are copied in increasing order. Accordingly, originals pass through the original feeder 3 once, whereby the reliability of the original feeder need not be improved to a high level. As a result, processing time can be shortened, and double-sided copy sheets can be collated regardless of their page number. |
