This rotor, as part of a piece of equipment, has a rotor body (2) connected rigidly to a shaft (1). The rotor body (2) is preferably manufactured from ceramic and can be balanced. Balancing is accomplished by attaching or removing balance weights to the rotor body (2). The aim is to create a rotor which can be balanced in a simple manner and in a relatively short time. This is achieved by the fact that the rotor body (2) has cut-outs (11) for the fitting of balance weights and furthermore has integrally formed balance weights (7) which can be removed, at least in part. <IMAGE>
