PURPOSE: To enable absorption of relative displacement occurred between a boiler body and a support steelwork by a great earthquake or the like by a method wherein a bracing structure comprises a first member consisting of pins and the like and a second member consisting of links and the like, and an elastic limit strength of the second member is made greater than maximum bending strength of the first member. CONSTITUTION: In a bracing structure, upper end parts of pins 25a, 25b and lower end parts of the same are connected to each other respectively by links 27, 27 via connecting pins 26. Deformationδu at break for a pin length L, a pin diameter D is calculated by a formulaδu =(m/2).(L<2> /D). (In the formula, m is a coefficient determined by material of the pins.) Accordingly, if relative displacement between a boiler body and support steelwork isΔ, and the length L and the diameter D are determined so that relationship of the relative displacementΔ< the deformationδu at the breakdown is satisfied, the relative displacementΔis absorbed without the breakdown of the pins 25a, 25b. And shapes, lengths, areas and the like of the links 27 are determined so that elastic limit strength of the links 27 comes to be greater than the maximum bending strength of the pins 25.
