In a process and an apparatus for the wet treatment of textile material, with a multiple guidance of the textile material over a single transporting hankwinder, in order to achieve a running speed of the textile material which is uniform over different treatment steps the transport speed of the transporting hankwinder is set differently in the region of different treatment steps, specifically by variation of the circumference of the transporting hankwinder.
