PURPOSE:To secure a safety escape by constituting a down cylinder for an escaper with an upper bag, attaching a weight to its lower end, and a lower bag, attaching a life boat to its lower end, and hoisting an upper end of the lower bag at constant tensile force by a wire. CONSTITUTION:A down cylinder 1 making an escaper pass through is made up of an upper bag 2 consisting of outer cylinder cloth 4, sliding cloth 5 and a main belt 6, and a lower bag 3 consisting of outer cylinder cloth 9, sliding cloth 10 and a main belt 11. And, the upper bag 2 is inserted into the inside of the lower bag 3 after attaching the upper end to the central part of a descending port frame of a ship and also attaching a life boat 13 to the lower end. On the other hand, in the lower bag 3, the life boat 13 is attached to the lower end and the upper end is hoised at constant tensile force all the time by the wire 12 hung down from the descending port frame 7, and this lower bag 3 is also moved up and down by vertical motion of the life boat 13. Thus an escaper can get away from the deck to the life boat safely without fail.
