<p>PURPOSE:To operate a water heater reasonably and economically, by a method wherein a belt type film on which a metallic thin film layer is formed is bonded on the outer surface of a can body in up-and-down direction to make a water temperature detecting sensor and obtain information from the value of the resistance of the metallic thin film layer about how much hot water with what temperature is reserved in the can body in what degree. CONSTITUTION:The title water heater is constituted by a can body 1, an electric heater 2, a water feeding port 3 and a hot-water delivery port 4 while a belt type water temperature detecting sensor 5 is bonded to the outer surface of the can body 1 along the most part of the height of the can body from the top to the bottom of the same. The water temperature detecting sensor 5 is made by metallizing a metal, such as copper, aluminium or the like which has a large resistance temperature coefficient, on the surface of a belt type high polymer film 10 in the shape of a belt having a given width while the terminal portions 11, 12 of the belt type metallized metal phase 9 are connected to a temperature measuring circuit 6 by lead wires 8. The value of resistance of the belt type metallic thin film layer changes with a temperature distribution in the can body, therefore, the hot-water temperature and the amount of hot-water in the can body may be estimated from the value of resistance.</p> |
