PURPOSE:To eliminate a ghost with a sufficient characteristic, by providing a high-pass enhancing filter between a tap gain control circuit and a pseudo ghost generation circuit, or at the front step of the tap gain control circuit, etc. CONSTITUTION:The high-pass enhancing filter 6 having a frequency characteristic opposite to that of a transversal filter consisting of the pseudo ghost generation circuit 2 is connected between the tap gain control circuit 1 and the pseudo ghost generation circuit, or at the front step of the tap gain control circuit 1, or the front or the rear step of the pseudo ghost generation circuit. The tap gain control circuit 1 calculates a tap gain corresponding to a ghost signal included in a television on an input terminal, and inputs it to the transversal filter which constitutes the pseudo ghost generation circuit via the high-pass enhancing filter 6. The ghost signal with a negative phase generated at the pseudo ghost generation circuit is supplied to an adder 4, and offsets a ghost component included in an input television signal.
