PURPOSE:To achieve a stable constant speed control by detecting a gear position of a speed changer and existence of lock-up, then selecting a membership function corresponding to the condition of the speed change operation, and executing fuzzy prediction based on an input information, i.e. a difference between a setting vehicle speed and an actual vehicle speed. CONSTITUTION:Gear position of a transmission coupled to an engine 1 is detected through a gear position sensor 9 while existence of lock-up condition of the transmission is detected through a lock-up sensor 10 and they are inputted to a control circuit 6. A membership function in fuzzy prediction corresponding to operation under such speed change condition is selected, then fuzzy prediction is executed with a vehicle speed set on a panel 7 and an actual speed detected through a vehicle speed sensor 8 being employed as input information thus making control of an actuator 5 for automatic constant speed driving. Consequently, stable constant speed driving control can be made regardless of the speed change operating condition.
