PURPOSE:To automatize and mechanize a manufacturing process, by forming a protecting film after a reflecting film is formed on a substrate and the outer peripheral part of the reflecting film is cut and removed. CONSTITUTION:First of all, the reflecting film 2 is formed by cleaning the center hole and the signal plane of the substrate 1 having the signal plane on which a bit of recording information is transferred and masking the innermost periphery. At this time, the film 2 is not formed at an outer peripheral end part because it forms the projecting part of a holder. Next, the substrate 1 is placed on a base board 31, and the base board 31 is rotated by a motor 32, and the outer peripheral part is cut with a bite 33, then, the film 2 is removed. After that, the substrate is cleaned again, and the protecting film 3 made of ultraviolet rays hardening resin is coated on the film 2, and ultraviolet rays are projected on the film, then, it is hardened and dried. Therefore, it is possible to make a mask process for the outer peripheral part unnecessary, and the automation and the mechanization of the process can be realized.
