PURPOSE:To execute proper processing at the time of generating the mis-setting of a fuser temperature and make office work efficient by inputting a paper thickness specified by a paper thickness specifying means and discriminating the propriety of a fixing temperature set by a fixing temperature setting means. CONSTITUTION:When paper is carried out from a feeding tray, the paper thickness is detected by a paper thickness detecting mechanism 41, the measured result is stored in a RAM34 and a CPU31 reads out the stored data and relating to the set value of the fuzer temperature and collates the read data with a relating table stored in a ROM33. When the fuzer temperature corresponding to the paper thickness is not abnormally high, copying work is continued, and when an abnormally high temperature is decided, a buzzer driving circuit 38 is controlled to drive a buzzer 39 and stop the operation of a copying machine. The CPU31 monitors a temperature adjusting volume 37 through a fuzer controller 36, and when a temperature other than a danger temperature for the paper thickness is set by an operator, stops the buzzing sound of the buzzer 39. Consequently, the temperature can be properly set.
