PURPOSE:To produce ferrite powder having excellent magnetic properties, by mixing two or more kinds of metal acetylacetones, hydrolyzing the mixture and calcining the produced precipitate. CONSTITUTION:The objective ferrite powder can be produced by mixing two or more kinds of metal acetylacetones, hydrolyzing the mixture and calcining the hydrolyzate. The process is suitable especially for the production of a hexagonal so-called M-phase ferrite (MFe12O19) or hexagonal so-called W-phase ferrite (MFe16O27) wherein M is 1-5-valent metal such as Sr, Ba, Pb, Zn, Ca, Cu, Ni, Co, etc. |
