PURPOSE:To prevent production and storage of a tarry material and to enable safe use of a wick for a long time, by a method wherein a fuel evaporating part of wick consists mainly of only wefts, given warps are interposed below a fuel evaporating part, and the wefts are made of only incombustible fiber such as glass fiber. CONSTITUTION:A fuel evaporating part 14, exposed to the inside of a combustion chamber 5, is formed by only wefts 15, and warps 16 are interposed in a fuel wick 13 below the fuel evaporating part 14. The warps 16 may be made by twill or be interposed in a Russel texture. The wefts 15 are formed by only incombustible fiber such as glass fiber. This causes sufficient fuel to be held below from the fuel evaporating part to provide the ability of feed to the fuel evaporating part, and causes the fuel, fed to the fuel evaporating part for evaporation, to be rapidly sucked to the top end, resulting in prevention of staying of surplus fuel in the fuel evaporating part, and in the possibility to prevent production and storage of a tarry material. |
