A process for production of abrasive diamond-impregnated tools consisting of the application of a layer of abrasive powder containing the diamond grains and their impregnation therein. The abrasive powder is impregnated by subjecting the workpiece to an impact impulse ranging from 200 to 800 kN &cirf& s applied to the workpiece at the side of the abrasive powder, against a hard-alloy element which spins at a frequency from 900 to 2500 s <1>.
