PURPOSE:To make the structure around an air spring compact by arranging an automatic space adjusting device between a pair of end members fitted to both ends of a cylindrical expansion member made of rubber-like elastic material to automatically adjust the space between them. CONSTITUTION:A pair of end members 12, 13 are fitted to both ends of a cylindrical expansion member 10 made of rubber-like elastic material, an air intake passage 14 is provided on the end member 12, and a cylindrical projection section 16 is protruded from this end member 12 toward the other end member 13. An automatic space adjusting device 18 is provided between these end members 12, 13. This device 18 is constituted of a discharge port member 19 arranged at the center of the cylindrical projection section 16, an opening/closing member 30 provided movably back and forth in the expansion direction of the expansion member 10 to envelop the discharge port 28 of this discharge port member 19, and an exhaust passage 36 penetrating the end member 13 and opened to the inside. Accordingly, the space between both end members 12, 13 can be maintained almost constant, and invariably good suspension performance can be obtained. |
