PURPOSE:To obtain a water-soluble foaming material compsn. suitable for use as a corner reflector, by mixing lithium hydride which foams when reacted with water with a spreading agent comprised of a paraffin wax, polyethylene glycol and naphthalene, and pressure molding the mixture. CONSTITUTION:80wt% lithium hydride (A) which is a crystalline material of the rock-salt type havging a particle diameter of 4-7m/m and foams when reacted with water is mixed with 20wt% spreading agent (B) comprised of 20wt% or less paraffin wax, 5wt% or less polyethylene glycol, and 1wt% or less naphthalene. The mixture is blended by preheating at 80-100 deg.C, and is pressure molded to allow it to solidify, thereby obtaining an intended water-soluble foaming material compsn. The compsn. is capable of continuously producing uniform bubbles by controlling the foaming time and the amt. of bubbles to be produced per unit time, is small in size, is easy to handle and is capable of easily making a bubble zone in water, which renders it suitable for use in reflection of sound in water. |
